[Reposting as a MassCom graduate and as a Mindanaon] CALL FOR RESPONSIBLE JOURNALISM. Please stop using the phrase “krisis sa Mindanao” or “kaguluhan sa Mindanao” in your news reports. Mindanao is a very big island. While a tragedy indeed happened in Basilan, it is only a part of a big land area. It is a disservice to all who live in Mindanao in peace. People who are not from Mindanao tend to thi…nk that there is chaos all over here when there is none. If a bombing happens in Makati in Manila for instance, you would not call it a “Luzon crisis or problem,” would you? You have to be more sensitive and professional because media has the ability to affect the consciousness of the viewers. You can help the country achieve what it desires. Choosing your words matter a whole lot.

why Filipinos seem to make Holy Week the perfect time to go to Boracay or other places to have fun, drink, have a good time,etc. I don’t understand. Don’t tell me na kasi long vacation. thats not it. there are lots of opportunities. its called Holy Week for a reason.
I thought it was supposed to be holy?
I don’t have a strong religious connection and i don’t always go to mass [halos pag sunday lang] pero why? please xplain
